Brows in Enschede

We shape your brows to suit the shape of your face.
Shaped, brushed-up brows and curled lashes after a brow lamination and lash lift

In brief

  • Everything starts with the shape. We decide it together, based on your face and your natural growth, before anything is removed.
  • For colour you choose between tint, hybrid or henna. They differ mainly in how long the skin beneath stays coloured too.
  • For shape and volume there's brow lamination. Your hairs are lifted and set in shape, and that lasts six to eight weeks.
  • At Moons from €19.50, including cleansing, waxing, tweezing and aftercare. We don't do permanent make-up.

Tint, hybrid or henna and what the difference is.

All three give colour, only they do something different to the skin beneath your brows. That is exactly what determines how full your brows look.

Tint only colours the hairs. Your brows look fuller and darker, and the patches where no hair grows stay as they are. The colour lasts about four weeks. Of the three, this is the most natural.

Hybrid brows work with a tint that colours the hairs and lightly takes in the skin. That gives more definition than ordinary tint, while it doesn't look drawn on. On the skin it lasts up to about a week, on the hairs up to about seven weeks.

Henna brows colour the skin most clearly and so fill in the gaps. That gives the fullest result, and on the skin it lasts up to about two weeks. Henna does call for clean, oil-free skin, because oil gives an uneven colour. On oily skin the colour on the skin also fades faster.

If you've ever reacted to hair dye or brow tint, say so when booking. We then do a test beforehand, because a plant-based product can cause a reaction too.

Brow lamination for shape and volume

With a brow lamination we temporarily soften your hairs, lay them in the direction that looks best and set that position. No colour is involved. It's purely about shape and volume.

It works best on unruly hairs: hairs that grow downwards, stick out in all directions or point upwards at the inner end, which makes it look as if there are gaps. After a lamination they lie upwards and outwards, and that makes your brows look fuller and sleeker. The effect lasts six to eight weeks. After that your hairs go their own way again.

If you want both shape and colour, choose Brow Lamination & Tint (€55.00). We don't do henna and a lamination in the same appointment, because the skin has just been treated then and takes up the colour unevenly. A week later, henna is fine.

Many people book a lash lift with it straight away. That's perfectly possible in one appointment. Do mention it when booking, then we reserve enough time for it.

This is how your appointment goes

Allow thirty minutes for shaping and tinting, and three quarters of an hour to an hour for a lamination.

  1. Deciding the shape

We look at the shape of your face, your natural growth and what you're used to. Then we decide the shape together, before anything at all is removed.

  2. Cleansing and shaping

We cleanse your brows and wax and tweeze until the line is right. With a lamination we soften the hairs first and lay them in the direction you want.

  3. Colour

If you choose tint, hybrid or henna, we now apply the colour that suits your hair and your skin. We'd rather start a shade too light than too dark, because going darker is always possible.

  4. Finishing

We finish with aftercare against redness and explain how to keep up the shape at home. With lamination especially, what you do at home determines how long it stays looking good.

When it works and when we wait

A good idea if

  • Your brows grow unevenly or are thin in places
  • You fill them in every morning and want to stop doing that
  • Your hairs grow downwards or in all directions
  • You're looking for a shape that suits your own face

Check with us first

  • If you use acids or retinol around your brows, stop using them a few days before we wax
  • After a peel or microneedling we wait with waxing until your skin has calmed down again
  • With eczema, small wounds or active irritation on your brows we don't treat, and we refer you to your GP
  • If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, shaping is fine. On tint and henna we decide together
  • If you've ever reacted to hair dye or brow tint, tell us beforehand. We then do a test first

How to keep it looking good for longer

The first day counts most, certainly after a lamination or henna. After that it needs little upkeep.

  • Keep your brows dry for the first 24 hours after a lamination, and leave out steam and make-up
  • After henna, cleanse that area without oil or scrub on the first day, then the colour lasts longer
  • Brush your brows into shape every day, with lamination that's half the work
  • From day two a drop of oil or a brow serum keeps the hairs supple
  • Plan your next appointment after three to four weeks for colour, and after six weeks for lamination

Good to know about brows

  • Brow lamination is temporary

Your hairs keep growing and after six to eight weeks go back to their own direction. That also means you can safely give it a try.

  • You can react to henna too

Henna is plant-based, but the products salons use almost always contain other colourants as well. So a reaction is just as possible. If you're sensitive, we do a test beforehand, whichever product it will be.

  • Hybrid colours more softly and for less time than henna

They're alike, only hybrid colours the skin more lightly and for a shorter time. For a soft effect you choose hybrid. If you really want to fill in gaps, henna gives the fuller look.

  • Hairs removed in shaping simply grow back

Shaping removes hairs that come back. Tweezing in the same spot for years can make the growth there thinner, though. That's why we decide the shape together and would rather remove too little than too much.

Permanent make-up we leave to specialists.

We don't do permanent make-up, microblading or powder brows. That's a different craft, with needles and pigment in the skin, and we leave it to specialists who fill their days with it.

If you're looking for that fuller, filled-in effect without anything permanent, henna brows come closest. They colour the skin too and last up to about two weeks. If your taste changes or you want a different shape, you're not tied to anything.

Frequently asked questions about brows

What is the difference between henna brows and brow lamination?

Henna colours your skin and your hairs, so your brows look filled in. With brow lamination we lift your own hairs upwards, for a fuller, neater shape. If you want both colour and lift, choose lamination with tint.

Is waxing included?

Yes. All the full brow treatments include cleansing, shaping, waxing and tweezing, as well as trimming and aftercare.

How long does brow lamination last?

Six to eight weeks. Your hairs keep growing and then gradually go back to their own direction. How long it stays sleek depends mainly on the first 24 hours and on a quick daily brush.

Is brow lamination harmful to my brows?

Not if it's done carefully. We match the processing time to your hairs and finish with a nourishing step. Laminating too often in a row can make the hairs dry, though. That's why we advise at least six weeks in between and a brow serum at home.

What's the difference between hybrid brows and henna brows?

Hybrid brows colour the hairs and lightly take in the skin, for up to about seven days. Henna colours the skin more clearly and stays there for up to about fourteen days. On the hairs they both last up to about seven weeks. Hybrid looks subtler, henna fuller.

How long does henna stay on the skin?

Usually seven to fourteen days on the skin and up to about seven weeks on the hairs. On oily skin the colour on the skin fades faster. Scrubbing, cleansing with oil and a lot of sun also make it come off sooner.

Does brow shaping hurt?

It's briefly sensitive, especially the first time or just before your period. It only takes a moment, and we work quickly and carefully. Afterwards we apply a calming product, so the redness has usually gone within an hour.

How often do I need to come back?

For shape and colour usually every three to four weeks. After a lamination, six weeks is a comfortable rhythm. You don't have to commit, you book separately each time. At the end of your appointment we tell you what makes sense for your hair growth.

Can I also have permanent make-up or microblading done at Moons?

No, we deliberately don't do that. For a fuller, filled-in effect without anything permanent, henna brows come closest. If you're really looking for permanent make-up, you're better off with a PMU specialist.

Can I combine brows and lashes in one appointment?

Yes, many people do. A Korean lash lift or classic lash lift goes perfectly well with a brow lamination or henna. Mention it when booking, then we reserve enough time.

How much does it cost to get your brows done in Enschede?

At Moons Beauty shaping costs €19.50, shaping with tint €30.00, hybrid brows €35.00, henna brows €38.00 and a brow lamination €50.00. Cleansing, waxing, tweezing and aftercare are always included.
