Skin improvement

What is your skin dealing with right now?

Choose what you recognise and we will explain what helps.

A skin concern rarely comes alone.

If you get spots, you often have dry patches too. And skin that looks oily is sometimes actually dehydrated, and produces extra sebum because of it. That's why we always start by looking and asking questions. What are you using now, what has changed in recent months, and how does your skin react to sun, stress and your work?

Only then do we choose together what makes sense. That can be gentle cleansing and repair, a peel or microneedling, or first just adjusting your home care for a few weeks. Sometimes the answer is that you should actually do less, because that's what overstimulated skin needs.

If you recognise yourself in more than one description, choose the one that stands out most. During the skin analysis we'll still make the connections. You can also fill in the skin quiz beforehand and send your answers via WhatsApp, so we know in advance what to look at.

What you see and what usually suits it.

See this as a rough guide. What suits you depends on your skin at that moment.

TopicWhat suits itUsually noticeable after
Blemish-prone skinCleansing, peels and a steady home routine4 to 8 weeks, first calmer, then fewer new spots
Oily skinBalancing rather than degreasing, with peels that suit your skin3 to 6 weeks, then less shine as the day goes on
Dry skinRepairing the barrier, hydrating treatments1 to 3 weeks, this is often the quickest
PigmentationA course of peels or microneedling, plus daily sun protection8 to 16 weeks, and only if the sun protection is in order
Fine linesMicroneedling, collagen build-up and maintenance10 to 12 weeks, the build-up carries on after that
Sensitive skinCalming first, mild treatments, forcing nothing2 to 6 weeks, then less burning and less redness

These are the timescales we see in practice in people who keep up their home care. Nobody can promise you an outcome, and neither can we.

From what you see to a plan you can keep up.

With skin improvement the result lies in the repetition. With us that happens in four steps.

  1. A 60-minute skin analysis

We look at your skin, discuss what you use and then treat what it needs that day. That costs €69.00. You go home with a plan.

  2. A course of four to six treatments

Usually every three to four weeks, so your skin can recover in between. One time it's a peel, the next something gentler. We keep adjusting to what we see, even if that differs from the plan from week one.

  3. Home is where the difference lies

What you do yourself counts for more than what happens in the salon. A short routine you really keep up works better than seven steps you drop after two weeks. With pigment and lines, sun protection is the basis.

  4. Maintenance, at longer intervals

Once your skin is where you want it, we stretch the appointments to once every six to ten weeks. That's enough to hold on to the result, and it never turns into a subscription.

What you can expect and when.

Your skin renews itself in about four weeks, and that pace determines everything. That's why you already see a difference after one treatment. The full effect takes more time.

  1. The same day

    Smoother and cleaner

Your skin feels different straight away and looks more even. After a peel or microneedling there can be some redness, which fades over the course of the day or the day after.

  2. After 4 weeks

    The first real change

You're one skin cycle further on. Dryness and roughness are often already visibly reduced. With blemishes you usually see fewer new spots appearing.

  3. After 3 months

What a course is meant for

After four to six treatments you see the effect on what needs more time, such as pigment that gets lighter, a more even complexion and firmer skin. This is the moment to get out the photos from the start.

  4. After that

Maintaining takes less than building up

With maintenance every six to ten weeks and a routine you keep up, you hold on to the result. If you stop altogether, it gradually slips back to where you started.

Good to know about skin concerns

  • Oily skin benefits from balance

The harder you degrease oily skin, the more sebum it produces to make up for the shortfall. That's why balancing works better than stripping.

  • Stinging is a reaction from your skin

A treatment that stings doesn't work better because of it. With sensitive skin, stinging is actually a sign to take a step back.

  • You need sunscreen every day

UVA passes through cloud and through glass. With pigmentation, daily protection makes the difference between results and disappointment.

  • The right active ingredient works better than an expensive label

An active ingredient in the right concentration does more than an expensive jar with a pretty label. We recommend what suits your skin, and you're never obliged to take anything home.

Frequently asked questions about skin improvement.

Where do I start if I have several skin concerns at once?

With the 60-minute first skin appointment, for €69.00. Combinations are the rule rather than the exception. We look at which concern is most prominent and start there, because tackling everything at once rarely works with skin.

How many treatments do I need?

For a visible difference you usually count on four to six treatments, every three to four weeks. With dryness it often goes faster, with pigment and fine lines it takes longer. After the analysis we'll tell you what makes sense in your case.

Can I also get advice only, without a course?

Yes, you can have one appointment and then get to work with the advice yourself. You're not tied to anything, because we work without subscriptions or packages you pay for in advance.

Is skin improvement in Enschede expensive?

At Moons Beauty a facial starts at €59.00, and microneedling at €89.00. You pay per visit, so you don't commit to anything. The full list is under prices.

What should I do before my first appointment?

Preferably come without make-up and leave harsh scrubs and acids alone in the week before. If you use medication that makes your skin more sensitive, just let us know. Everything about preparing can be found under practical information.

Clear from the start

What we do, and where your GP comes in.

Have you noticed a mark that is changing shape or colour, do you have painful or inflamed areas, or do you take medication that affects your skin? Then see your GP first. After that we are happy to look at what we can do for you alongside that treatment.
