They are all facials, and yet each treatment does something different. Choose by what you want to achieve.

What exactly happens in that hour.
You lie back under a blanket. Many people doze off, and that is perfectly fine. You can chat, or stay quiet.
Looking and asking
We start with a short check. How is your skin doing, what do you use and has anything changed? We tailor the treatment to that, even if you booked something specific.
Cleansing, twice
First make-up and sunscreen come off, then a second cleanse works on the skin itself. At home this is the step most often skipped. That is why your products do less than they promise.
Loosening and extracting where needed
With steam or an enzyme we soften your skin so that blocked pores give way. If there are blackheads, we take them out. On sensitive skin we skip this or keep it short.
Active ingredient, massage and mask
This is where the treatments differ: hydrating, calming, brightening or firming. The massage is always included, because good circulation helps.
Finishing and advice
We finish with care and protection, and tell you what is best to do at home. We let you know which products make sense and which do not. What you buy is up to you.
Once helps four times changes something.
For maintenance, once every four to six weeks works well. That is roughly the pace at which your skin renews itself, so each time you catch a new layer. If you mainly come for clean, cared-for skin and an hour of calm, this is the rhythm most people keep.
If you want to change something, such as fewer blocked pores or a more even look, a series of four to six treatments works better than separate appointments spread over the year. It does not have to be the same treatment each time. We adjust it every visit to what we see.
Sometimes it is better to do less. Overstimulated skin mainly needs rest. Then we simply say so, even if you had just cleared your diary for it.
Facial or something stronger after all?
The difference is simple. A facial cares for what is there, a peel or microneedling changes something about your skin.

Who it is for and what we want to know beforehand.
A facial suits almost every skin. A few things we would rather hear beforehand than halfway through.
A good idea if
- Your skin feels dull, dry or congested and you cannot sort it out at home.
- You want to look good in a few days, without red skin or downtime.
- You have never been to a beauty therapist and want to know whether it is for you.
- You are looking for an hour in which you do not have to do anything.
Check with us first
- Preferably come without make-up. If that is not possible, we simply take it off.
- Do you use acids or retinol at home? Stop the week before, then we can do more.
- Just back from the sun or the sunbed? Let us know. Then we keep the treatment milder.
- During pregnancy and while breastfeeding it is perfectly possible. We just leave out certain active ingredients. See also skincare during pregnancy.
- With active, inflamed spots or a skin infection we calm first and do not extract.
- A spot that changes shape or colour should be checked by your GP first.

How much does a facial cost in Enschede?
At Moons Beauty a facial starts at €59.00 for 45 minutes. The more extensive one-hour treatments cost between €75.00 and €89.00. You pay afterwards in the salon, by card or in cash.
How long does a facial take?
45 to 75 minutes, depending on what you choose. The time in the booking calendar is the time you spend in the chair, and getting undressed and dressed comes on top of that.
How often should I have a facial?
For maintenance once every four to six weeks, roughly the pace at which your skin renews itself. If you want to change something about your skin, a series of four to six treatments works better than separate appointments.
Do I need to come without make-up?
That is handy, but not necessary. We start with a double cleanse anyway, so your make-up comes off in the first few minutes.
Can I go straight back out after the treatment?
Yes, a facial has no downtime. Your skin may be slightly pink from the massage and the circulation, and that settles within an hour or so.
Which facial should I choose if I do not know?
Then book the 60-minute first skin appointment, for €69.00. We look at your skin first and then treat whatever it needs that day. That way you do not have to guess beforehand.
Are facials also for men?
Yes, facials are for everyone. Body waxing we only do for women.
Can I exercise or go to the sauna after a facial?
Better to hold off that day, especially if we have done extractions. Your pores are open then, and sweat and heat can cause irritation. From the next day everything is fine again.
