Colour on your own hairs, together with a neat shape.
Dark, shaped brows and full lashes, up close

In brief

  • Tint colours your own brow hairs. The colour stays visible on average for up to about four weeks.
  • At Moons you book tint as Brow Shape & Tint, so always together with shaping. Everything together takes thirty minutes.
  • Tint only colours the hairs. If you want the skin beneath to take colour too, you choose hybrid or henna.
  • It costs €30.00, and it is the brow treatment that is booked most often with us.

What tint does for your brows.

Brow tint colours your own hairs. Especially the light tips and the fine hairs that now get lost become visible as a result. Your brows look fuller and darker, while nothing has been added.

The tint only takes on the hair. The skin beneath keeps its own colour, so patches where no hair grows stay as they are. That makes tint the most natural of our three colour treatments.

At Moons you book tint as Brow Shape & Tint. So your brows are always shaped with wax and tweezers as well, because a lovely colour comes out best in a neat shape. The whole appointment takes half an hour.

Tint, hybrid or henna and how long the colour lasts.

All three colour your hairs. They differ in what happens to the skin beneath your brows, and so in how long you see the colour.

TopicWhat takes colourOn the skinOn the hairsPrice
TintOnly the hairs, for the most natural resultThe skin does not take colourOn average up to about four weeks€30.00
Hybrid browsThe hairs, and the skin lightly. That gives extra definitionUp to about seven daysUp to about seven weeks€35.00
Henna browsThe hairs and clearly the skin. That fills in sparse patchesUp to about fourteen daysUp to about seven weeks€38.00

With all three we shape your brows too. See the timescales as an upper limit, because your skin type and your aftercare make a difference.

A colour that suits your hair and your skin.

We choose the shade together, with a few rules of thumb to go by.

  • Blonde or light brown hair

Here your brows can often be a shade darker than the hair on your head. That way they frame your face, while it stays soft.

  • Dark hair

With dark hair the colour stays close to your own hair colour. Brows that are much darker than your hair soon look heavy.

  • Rather too light than too dark

We would rather start a shade too light. Going darker is always possible, while brows that have turned out too dark take weeks to fade.

  • A hair colour that changes

If you often dye your hair a different colour, or if you want something bolder, say so at your appointment. Then we match the shade to that.

When tint does the most.

Tint works with the hairs you already have. The more there are, the more the colour does for you.

A good idea if

  • You have light or blonde hairs that almost disappear in photos.
  • You have enough hairs, they are just fine and you can hardly see them.
  • You want a natural result, with colour on your hairs and your skin as it is.
  • You currently fill in your brows mainly to make them visible.
  • You want to keep up shape and colour together, in one appointment every three to four weeks.

Check with us first

  • A reaction to hair dye or brow tint, even if it was long ago. Mention it when you book, then we do a test first.
  • Sparse patches or a thin tail. Tint only colours what grows, so then hybrid or henna has more effect.
  • Hairs that point in all directions. Then a lift helps more, such as Brow Lamination & Tint for €55.00.
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding. Shaping is fine, the colour we decide on together.
  • Retinol or acids on your face. Because we wax too, you stop using those around your brows a few days beforehand.
  • Eczema or small wounds around your brows. Then we wait until your skin has healed, and if in doubt you see your GP first.

Half an hour for shape and colour.

You lie back and keep your eyes closed. The tinting itself does not hurt, only the shaping is a little tender.

  1. Agreeing on shape and colour

We look at your face and at the colour of your hair. Together we choose the shape and the shade, before anything happens.

  2. Cleansing and shaping

We clean your brows and remove with wax and tweezers what falls outside the line. That way the shape is set before the colour goes on.

  3. Tinting

We apply the tint to your hairs and leave it to develop for a while. The longer it sits, the deeper the colour, so we keep a close eye on the time.

  4. Removing and caring

We remove the tint and apply care against redness. You see the result straight away, and you hear how to keep up the shape at home.

Four weeks of colour and how it ends.

Tint needs little aftercare. The colour fades gradually, so you never see it disappear all at once.

  1. Straight after your appointment

    Colour straight away

You see shape and colour at once. From the waxing, the skin around your brows can still be a little red, and that usually settles within an hour.

  2. The first day

Take it easy for a bit

On the areas we have waxed, it is best to leave make-up off that day. Skip the sauna and sunbed too, because freshly waxed skin reacts faster.

  3. Weeks 1 to 3

    The colour softens

A tiny bit of colour comes off with every wash. Do not rub your brows hard and keep scrubs away, then the colour stays lovely for longer.

  4. Weeks 3 to 4

    Time for a touch-up

The colour is softer and hairs are growing outside the line. Because shape and colour last about equally long, you touch them up together in one appointment.

Good to know about brow tint.

  • Tint only colours what already grows

So sparse patches stay visible. If you want to fill those in, henna clearly colours the skin beneath too, and hybrid a little.

  • You can react to brow tint too

That can happen even if you have tinted for years without any problems. If you have ever noticed anything, we test beforehand.

  • Hair dye does not belong on your brows

Hair dye is made for your scalp, and the skin around your eyes is thinner and more sensitive. So do not tint your brows at home with a leftover bit of hair dye.

  • After henna you can simply go back to tint

They are separate treatments, so each time you choose anew what suits that moment.

Frequently asked questions about brow tint

How much does brow tinting cost in Enschede?

At Moons, Brow Shape & Tint costs €30.00. Your brows are then shaped and tinted, in thirty minutes. You pay afterwards in the salon, by card or in cash.

How long does brow tint last?

On average up to about four weeks. The colour fades gradually, and how quickly that happens depends on your skin type and your aftercare. After three to four weeks the shape is also due for a touch-up.

Can I have my brows tinted without having them shaped?

At Moons you always book tint as Brow Shape & Tint, so together with shaping. That is one price and one appointment of thirty minutes. That way the colour comes out in a neat shape straight away.

What is the difference between brow tint and henna brows?

Tint only colours your hairs. Henna colours the skin beneath too, for up to about fourteen days, and on the hairs for up to about seven weeks. If you want to fill in sparse patches, henna is a better fit. For the most natural result you choose tint.

What is the difference between tint and hybrid brows?

Hybrid tint lightly takes in the skin as well, for up to about seven days, and stays on the hairs for up to about seven weeks. That gives more definition than ordinary tint. Hybrid brows therefore sit between tint and henna.

Can you tint my lashes too?

Yes, with Lash Tint your own lashes get a darker colour, for four weeks. That costs €15.00 and takes half an hour. Just send us a WhatsApp if you want it together with your brows, then we plan it as one appointment.

Can I have my brows tinted during my pregnancy?

We discuss that together. During this period many people choose shaping only and leave the colour for now. If you say no, that is enough. What else is and is not possible is under skincare during your pregnancy.

When should I have my brows tinted before a wedding?

Plan it a week or two before the big day. After shaping, the skin around your brows can still be a little red, and after a few days everything looks more natural. How to plan the rest around it, you see in the schedule for your wedding.
