Two first appointments and when to choose which.
Both take an hour and both are about your skin. Which one suits you best depends on where you are now.

First we look and talk, then we treat. So you always walk out the door with treated skin.
Looking and asking
We look at your skin up close, including places you don't pay attention to yourself, such as your jawline, your neck and the side of your nose. Then we ask more questions. What do you use, how often and since when? And has anything changed in your work, your sleep or your hormones?
An explanation in plain language
We tell you what we see and what is probably behind it, in words you don't have to look up at home. Feel free to keep asking, that's what this hour is for too.
A treatment that suits today
Then we treat your skin, matched to what it can handle at that moment. If your skin is calm, that can be a more thorough cleanse. With overstimulated skin we choose something calming instead.
The plan to take home
Finally we discuss the order: what you do at home, when coming back makes sense and roughly what it costs. You don't have to decide in the chair. You're welcome to think it over at home and book online later.
Why we look at your skin first.
You can simply book a one-off facial with us. If you really want to change something about your skin, you start with this appointment.
What you see can mean something else
Skin that shines can be oily, but it can also be dehydrated. And spots along your jawline tell a different story from spots on your forehead. If you treat the wrong thing, you spend months on something that wasn't the problem. Also read about the skin concerns we see most often.
You avoid doing too much
Most skin that comes through our door is getting too much at home. Three acids, a scrub and a retinol all at once, for example. Our advice is then often to cut things out, and that costs you nothing extra.
You know what it will cost
After this hour you know whether one treatment is enough for your skin or whether it needs four, and what that costs. You pay per treatment, so never in advance for a package. All prices are simply on the prices page.
Preparing for your first appointment.
A few things that help, and a few things we'd like to know from you beforehand.
A good idea if
- Come without make-up if you can. Otherwise we take it off in the salon.
- Take a photo of your products at home, or bring them with you. That's quicker than listing them from memory.
- Think beforehand about what bothers you most about your skin. That helps when deciding the order.
- Leave harsh scrubs and acids alone in the week before.
Check with us first
- If you use medication that makes your skin more sensitive, let us know. We adjust the treatment to it.
- If you've just been in the sun or on the sunbed, we wait about two weeks with peels and microneedling.
- If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, just tell us. Then we take the gentle route.
- If you have a spot that's changing shape or colour, or something that hurts or is inflamed, see your GP about it first.
And if you want to carry on afterwards.
After the first appointment most people choose a course of four to six treatments, with three to four weeks in between. There's a reason for those intervals: your skin needs about four weeks to renew itself. What you build up in such a period only shows after a few cycles.
Which treatments those will be depends on what we see in your skin. They can be gentle cleanses and nourishing treatments, a series of peels, or microneedling if your skin needs structure and collagen. If you'd rather just get started with the advice at home first, that's fine as well. If we think something is pointless, we say so too.

Which first appointment should I book?
If this is your first visit for skin improvement, book the first skin appointment. If you have already looked at the menu and are just unsure which treatment suits you, choose the facial on advice.
Can I also have microneedling or a peel during this appointment?
No, microneedling and intensive peels are booked separately. They come with their own consultation and aftercare.
How much does a skin analysis cost in Enschede?
The first skin appointment at Moons Beauty takes 60 minutes and costs €69.00. That includes the analysis, a treatment that suits your skin and our advice. You pay afterwards in the salon.
Is a treatment included, or is it just a conversation?
A treatment is always included. After the analysis we treat whatever your skin needs at that moment, within the same 60 minutes. So you go home with more than just advice.
Do I have to take a course of treatments afterwards?
No. We work without subscriptions or packages, so you book each further treatment separately. You're also welcome to get started with the advice at home first.
Can I have microneedling or a strong peel straight away in this appointment?
No, you book those separately. They come with their own preparation and aftercare. We also want to know first how your skin reacts to something gentler.
I've already been to another salon. Is a new analysis worth it then?
Yes, especially then. We'd like to know what you've already tried and how your skin reacted to it. Feel free to bring what you use now, then you don't have to remember anything by heart.
Is a device or camera used for the analysis?
No, we look with the naked eye and ask further questions. That sounds simpler than a scan, but in practice it tells us more. Half the story is in your routine, your work and your habits, and a device can't read that.
