In brief
- With a brow lamination we brush your own hairs upwards and set them in that position. Nothing is added and nothing is tattooed.
- A lamination gives your brows shape and volume. If you want colour too, choose the lamination with tint.
- The result lasts six to eight weeks. After that it gradually grows out.
- At Moons it costs €50.00, or €55.00 with tinting. Shaping is always included.

What brow lamination actually does.
With a brow lamination, also called a brow lift, we temporarily soften your eyebrow hairs with a lotion. That lets us lay them in the direction that looks best: upwards and slightly outwards. With a second lotion we set them in place. Then we nourish the skin and the hairs. It works much like a lash lift, only on your brows.
A lamination only works with the hairs you already have. No colour goes into your skin and nothing is tattooed. People sometimes confuse it with microblading or powder brows, but those are very different treatments. We do not do permanent make-up. Everything we do grows out by itself.
Your brows look fuller as a result, even though nothing has been added. Hairs that used to hang down or point in all directions now lie neatly in one direction. That way they show the shape of your brows. Most clients notice above all that the gaps that seemed to be there before are gone.

Lamination, henna or just a tint?
Lamination, henna and tinting often get mixed up, but each does something different for your brows.
| Topic | What it does | Price | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brow lamination | Brushes your hairs up and sets them, for shape and volume. | €50.00 | 6 to 8 weeks |
| Lamination and tint | The same lift, with colour on the hairs. Most clients choose this one. | €55.00 | Shape 6 to 8 weeks, colour about 4 weeks |
| Henna brows | Colours the hairs and the skin underneath, so your brows look fuller. | €38.00 | Skin up to about 14 days, hairs up to 7 weeks |
| Shape and tint | Shaping and tinting the hairs. The classic basic treatment. | €30.00 | About 4 weeks on the hairs |
We do not do lamination and henna in the same appointment. Your skin will only just have been treated and would take up the colour unevenly. A week later, henna is fine.
When it really makes a difference.
For some the effect is big, for others subtle. That depends mostly on your own hair growth.
A good idea if
- Your hairs grow downwards or point in all directions.
- Your brows have patches that look bare, while there are hairs there lying the wrong way.
- You comb or gel your brows into shape every morning and you are fed up with it.
- You have thick, coarse hairs that take no notice of a brush.
- You want fuller brows, but no permanent make-up.
Check with us first
- Very thin or sparse hairs. A lamination only lays what is already there, so then there is little to lay. Henna often gives you more effect then, and how your brows grow back fuller is in growing out your brows.
- A previous reaction to hair dye or brow tint. Mention it when booking, then we test beforehand.
- Small wounds, eczema or an inflamed spot on your brow. Then we wait until your skin has recovered.
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding. Shaping and the lamination are fine, the colour we decide on together.
- A recent peel or microneedling. Then we leave time in between, and we tell you beforehand how much.
Within an hour you are done.
You lie or sit back with your eyes closed. The lamination itself does not hurt. You mostly feel the brush and the cotton buds.
First a look at your face
Before we start, we decide together which shape suits your face. We look at what you want and at what is possible with your hair growth. Feel free to bring a photo of brows you like.
Softening and laying
The first lotion makes the hairs pliable. Then we lay them hair by hair in the direction we agreed on. This is the precise work that decides the end result.
Setting and nourishing
A second lotion sets the position. Then we apply care to the hairs and the skin, because the lotions are drying if you do nothing afterwards.
Shaping and colour if you want
Finally we remove with wax and tweezers whatever falls outside the line. If you chose the lamination with tint, the colour goes on now. You see straight away how it has turned out.
What you do once you are home.
The first day decides how well it stays in place. After that you can do everything you always do again.
First 24 hours
Keep dry and hands off
Keep your brows dry and do not rub them. So leave steam, the sauna and the swimming pool for now. The position still needs to set, and you leave make-up off your brows themselves that day too.
From day 2
Brushing and oiling
Brush your brows upwards every morning with a spoolie, a small brush. Add a drop of oil or a nourishing serum, because lifted hairs dry out faster. That makes the difference between six and eight weeks of beautiful brows.
Weeks 2 to 4
A quick tidy-up
The lift is still there, but new hairs grow outside the line. A short appointment for shaping keeps the shape sharp. Laminating again is not needed yet.
Weeks 6 to 8
Time for the next one
Your hairs have renewed and grow their own way again. Leave at least six weeks between two laminations. Laminating more often puts unnecessary strain on your hairs.
Good to know about brow lamination.
The lotions only work on your hairs
So the root is not involved. Hairs can become dry and brittle, though, if you laminate too often or do not look after them afterwards. That is why we leave six weeks between two laminations and recommend a drop of oil every day.
A lamination grows out within two months
A lamination only lays your own hairs differently. With microblading, colour is put into your skin, and that stays for months to years. We do not do permanent make-up, by the way.
Together we choose how upright your hairs stand
The sleek, upright look is a choice. If you want a more natural look, we lay your hairs less steeply.
Your brows look fuller with the same hairs
The hairs fill the space better, nothing extra grows. If you really have few hairs, henna often does more for you than a lift.
Together with your lashes in one appointment.
A brow lamination and a lash lift are booked together most often. They work in the same way, and together they decide how awake your eyes look. Allow about two hours for both. Mention it when booking, and we reserve the time in one block.
We do not combine henna in the same appointment. If you recently had a skin treatment with a peel or microneedling, we wait with waxing around your brows until your skin has calmed down again.
If you are planning a lamination for a wedding or another big day, it looks its best a week or two after the appointment. How to plan the rest is in the schedule for your wedding. All prices and times are on the prices page, and you can always book online.

Book an appointmentFrequently asked questions about brow lamination
What does brow lamination cost in Enschede?
At Moons a brow lamination costs €50.00, or €55.00 with tinting added. Shaping is always included. You pay afterwards in the salon.
How long does brow lamination last?
Six to eight weeks. Your hairs renew themselves, so the result fades gradually and is never suddenly gone. With brushing and a drop of oil a day you are more likely to reach the eight weeks.
Is brow lamination harmful to my brows?
If you leave enough time in between and look after your hairs well, it is not harmful. The lotions work on the hair itself and the root stays out of it. Laminating too often or not oiling afterwards can make hairs dry and brittle, though. That is why we leave at least six weeks.
What is the difference between brow lamination and henna brows?
A lamination gives shape: we brush your own hairs up and set them. Henna gives colour, on the skin under your brows too, so bare patches look fuller. If many hairs point the wrong way, choose lamination. If you have few hairs instead, henna does more.
Does it hurt?
Not the lamination itself, you only feel the brush. At the end we shape with wax and tweezers. That is briefly sensitive, just like with a regular brow treatment.
Can I wear make-up on my brows after the treatment?
Not for the first 24 hours, and your brows stay dry then too. After that anything goes again, though most clients no longer need their pencils and gels by then.
Can I combine lamination with a lash lift?
Yes, that combination is booked most often. Together it takes about two hours. Just WhatsApp us beforehand, and we put it in the booking calendar as one appointment.
Do you also do microblading or powder brows?
No, we do not do permanent make-up, microblading or powder brows. Everything we do grows out by itself. So you are never tied to anything for years.
