Moons Beauty
Skin improvement in Enschede

In brief
- Skin improvement is a process: an analysis, a plan, a course of treatments and a routine you keep up at home.
- You start with a skin analysis for €69.00. After that we choose together between cleansing, peels and microneedling.
- A single treatment with us costs €59.00 to €119.00. You pay per visit and are not tied to anything.
- We don't do injectables or laser. If that's the better route for you, we say so and refer you on.
- We work with Yellow Rose for the treatments and the care at home, and with the Dermapen for microneedling. That way every appointment follows the same line and we can clearly see what works.

How skin improvement works at Moons
After the first appointment you already know which steps your skin needs. You don't have to commit, because you book each treatment separately.
Looking and asking
We look at your skin up close and ask about your routine, your work, your hormones and what you've already tried. After all, what you see in the mirror is rarely where the problem starts.
A plan with an order
You leave knowing the order: what we start with, what comes next and why. We also tell you what it costs and roughly how many sessions you need.
The course
Most plans consist of four to six treatments, with two to four weeks in between. If your skin reacts differently from what we expected, we adjust along the way.
Holding on to it
After that you hold on to the result with a routine at home and a treatment every six to eight weeks. If you stop that maintenance, any result slowly slips back.
What's bothering your skin, explained per concern.
Each skin concern has its own page with an explanation, our approach, the costs and frequently asked questions. If you recognise more than one of them, you're certainly not the only one. We then decide together where to start.
Blemish-prone skin and acne
Spots and blackheads, and pores that keep clogging up. Treating blemish-prone skin.
Acne scars
Pits and dents that stay after your spots have gone. Fading acne scars.
Oily and shiny skin
Your skin is shiny within a few hours, your pores are enlarged and make-up doesn't stay put. Balancing oily skin.
Enlarged pores
Pores you can see up close, with grey dots on your nose. Treating enlarged pores.
Dry and tight skin
Flaking, a tight feeling after washing and a dull complexion. Restoring dry skin.
Dull skin
A sallow complexion that looks tired and has little glow, even after a good night's sleep. Refreshing dull skin.
Pigmentation
Dark patches and an uneven complexion from sun, hormones or inflammation. Fading pigmentation.
Fine lines and wrinkles
Lines around your eyes and mouth that stay when you relax. Tackling fine lines without injections.
Loss of firmness
Your jawline and neck are getting softer and your skin springs back less. Treating loss of firmness.
Sensitive and red skin
Skin that turns red quickly, stings or reacts to all sorts of things. Calming sensitive skin.
Four treatment routes side by side.
Each route has a different aim. If you don't yet know which one suits you, start with the skin analysis. Then we choose together.

| Topic | What for | Downtime | Usual course | From |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cleansing and hydration | Congestion, dull skin, restoring moisture | You can go straight back out | Maintenance every four weeks | €59.00 |
| Peels | Uneven complexion, pigmentation, enlarged pores, cell renewal | Sometimes a few days of light flaking | 4 to 6 times, every 2 to 4 weeks | €69.00 |
| Microneedling | Fine lines, small scars, firmness, pigmentation | One to two days of redness | 3 to 6 times, every 4 weeks | €89.00 |
| Connective tissue and anti-ageing | Circulation, firmness, tired skin | You can get straight on with your day | Maintenance every 3 to 4 weeks | €59.00 |
With a peel or microneedling you can add LED therapy for €20.00. You'll find all prices in the price list.
Salon, skin therapist or clinic?
They look alike, but each does something different. If someone else is a better fit for what your skin needs, we tell you that too.
At a salon for skin improvement such as Moons you work on the condition and the look of your skin, with cleansing, care, peels and microneedling. You don't need a referral, and cosmetic treatments aren't reimbursed.
A skin therapist has paramedical training and more often focuses on scars, severe acne and skin conditions. Sometimes you go there on referral, and sometimes you get a reimbursement from your supplementary insurance.
A dermatologist is a doctor. They make the diagnosis and treat medically, with a referral from your GP.
In practice the three complement each other. If you have inflamed acne that hurts, a mark that's changing or skin that needs medication, your GP is your first step. We're then happy to carry on working with you, alongside your doctor's treatment.
Your first appointment and what to expect.
Your first appointment is the sixty-minute skin analysis. We look at your skin, discuss what you want to achieve and then straight away do a treatment that suits what your skin needs at that moment. So you go home with more than just advice.
Preferably come without make-up, otherwise we remove it first. If you use acids, retinol or skin medication, tell us beforehand, because that changes what we do and don't do that day. It's better not to plan an important occasion straight after a peel or microneedling.
Afterwards you know what's going on with your skin, what we suggest, what it costs and in which order. If you'd first like to see at home, in your own time, what suits you, do the skin quiz. It's five questions, and you get a direction straight away.

Good to know about skin improvement
A lasting difference calls for a course
After one treatment your skin feels fresh and clean, and that's nice. A lasting difference comes from a course, together with what you do at home. We'd rather tell you beforehand how many sessions you need than have you disappointed after one.
The best treatment is one your skin can handle
Skin that gets irritated reacts with redness, or with pigmentation instead. That's why we choose the strongest treatment your skin can still comfortably handle, and build it up step by step.
Home and salon complement each other
At home you maintain, and in the salon we take the steps that can't be done at home. Conversely, every treatment needs a routine you keep up, otherwise the result doesn't last.
You need sun protection all year round
UV radiation is there all year, even on cloudy days and through the car window. Of everything you do at home, daily protection does the most, for almost every skin concern.

Book an appointmentFrequently asked questions about skin improvement
Which treatment suits me?
If you do not know yet, book a first skin appointment or a facial on advice. We look at your skin and help you choose between a cleanse, a peel or microneedling.
What is the difference between a peel and microneedling?
A peel uses acids to work on the surface of your skin. That encourages renewal and gives a more even complexion. With microneedling we make fine channels in your skin, and those prompt your skin to repair itself and produce collagen. Both call for skin that is ready for it, and for good aftercare.
Can I book microneedling or a peel straight away?
If it is your first visit, we discuss beforehand whether your skin is ready for it. Sometimes we recommend a milder treatment first, or a first skin appointment.
What exactly is skin improvement?
With skin improvement you work on the condition of your skin step by step. You start with an analysis, followed by a course that suits your skin, together with a routine for home. Think of deep cleansing, peels, microneedling and targeted active ingredients, alternated with maintenance.
How many treatments do I need?
Usually four to six, with two to four weeks in between. After that comes maintenance every six to eight weeks. With blemish-prone skin you often see a difference sooner than with pigmentation or fine lines. In the skin analysis we tell you what is realistic for your skin.
How much does skin improvement cost in Enschede?
At Moons Beauty a facial costs from €59.00, a peel from €69.00 and microneedling from €89.00. The skin analysis you start with costs €69.00. You pay per visit and aren't tied to anything, because we work without subscriptions.
Is skin improvement covered by health insurance?
No, cosmetic treatments aren't reimbursed. If there's a medical indication, such as severe acne or scars, your GP is the first step. Some of the treatments at a skin therapist are sometimes covered by supplementary insurance.
Can I come if I've never done anything about my skin?
Yes, especially then. Many people come in with a bag full of products that don't go together, or with nothing at all. We always start by looking. After that you get a short routine of a few steps to take home.
Can I also come to Moons for injectables or laser?
No. We don't do Botox, fillers, laser or IPL, because that's medical or clinical work. If you do want that, we refer you to a clinic or dermatologist.
When is the best time to start a course?
For peels and pigmentation treatments, autumn and winter are the best time, because your skin then catches less sun. Cleansing, hydration and connective tissue massage are possible all year round. If you're just back from a sunny holiday, we wait about two weeks.
