Korean lash lift in Enschede

We lift your own lashes straight up from the root.
Lashes after a Korean lash lift, curled upwards from the root

In brief

  • With a Korean lash lift we lift your lashes from the root, so they come straight up out of the lash line.
  • We work with your own lashes and there is no upkeep in between. You see the lift for six to eight weeks.
  • At Moons it costs €60.00, or €65.00 if we also tint your lashes. You lie down for an hour with your eyes closed.
  • For stiff, straight or downward-growing lashes the Korean technique often works better than a classic lift.

What is a Korean lash lift exactly?

With a Korean lash lift, also called a Korean eyelash lift, we lift your own lashes from the root and set them in the direction you want. So we only change the position of the hairs you already have. Nothing is extended or glued on.

The difference from the classic lash lift is in the shield and in where the lift sits. For the classic lift we lay your lashes over a curved shield, and that gives a round curl. For the Korean technique we use a flatter shield. We set your lashes hair by hair, so the bend sits mainly at the root. The rest of the lash then stands almost straight up.

That gives a different effect. Your eyes look more open and your lashes look longer, with less visible curl. Online you also come across the nickname wide-awake look for it. Korean is a way of working, and we adapt it to every set of lashes.

Korean or classic what is the difference?

With both we lift your own lashes, and they last just as long. They differ in the shape of the result and in the kind of lashes they suit best.

Online you sometimes read that a Korean lift lasts longer or is better for your lashes. There is no hard evidence for that. Both techniques grow out with your own lashes and therefore last just as long. If you don't know which one you want, we look at your lashes in the salon and choose together.

Who it works for and when we advise against it

A good idea if

  • Your lashes grow straight ahead or downwards, which makes them look short
  • You no longer want to curl your lashes every day with a curler or mascara
  • You want the effect of extensions, but with your own lashes and without infills
  • You have dark lashes and only want the lift, or you take the lift with tint

Check with us first

  • Very short lashes. The lift does work, but you see less of it. We tell you that beforehand
  • Lash extensions that are still in. Have those fully removed first
  • An eye infection, stye, allergic reaction or a recent treatment on your eyelid. Then we wait
  • Brittle or over-treated lashes. We leave those alone for a few months first
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding. Let us know, then we discuss whether to leave out the tint

This is how your appointment goes

You lie down for an hour with your eyes closed, and most people doze off for a bit. It doesn't hurt. At most you feel the light pressure of the shield on your eyelid.

  1. Looking at your lashes

We look at the length, thickness and growth direction of your lashes and at the shape of your eye. Based on that we choose how strong the lift will be and which size of shield we use. If you have reacted to tint before, say so when booking. Then we test beforehand.

  2. Cleansing and placing the shield

First we clean your lashes, so there is no oil or mascara left on them. Then we place a silicone shield on your eyelid. We lay your lashes over it hair by hair, upwards from the root.

  3. Lifting and setting

The lifting lotion gives your lashes their new position. In a second step we set that position. How long everything is left on, we match to your lashes: stiff lashes need a little more time than fine ones.

  4. Tinting and nourishing

If you chose the lift with tint, we tint your lashes now. Then they get a nourishing step, so they stay supple and don't feel dry.

  5. Eyes open

You see the difference straight away. We tell you briefly what to avoid on the first day, and how to keep the lift looking good for as long as possible.

What to expect in the weeks after

  1. Straight away

    Visible immediately

Your eyes look more open straight away and your lashes look longer. On the first day the lift can still look a little tight. It settles a bit after that.

  2. First 24 hours

    Let it set

Keep your lashes dry. So skip the sauna, steam, the swimming pool and a hard workout for now. Rubbing and sleeping with your face in the pillow can also still disturb the position.

  3. Weeks 2 to 5

    The best phase

The lift now looks natural and you don't need to do anything for it. Mascara is fine. Preferably choose a mascara you can remove without oil.

  4. Weeks 6 to 8

    Growing out

Your lashes renew themselves, so the lift gradually grows out. That happens so gently that it never suddenly looks odd. Most clients book a new appointment then.

Aftercare for your lash lift

How long your lift stays looking good depends mainly on the first day and on how you treat your lashes afterwards. Luckily it's only a few things.

  • Keep your lashes dry for the first 24 hours and don't touch them
  • Leave out oil-based products around your eyes, because oil makes the lift drop sooner
  • Don't rub your eyes and preferably don't sleep with your face in the pillow
  • Brush your lashes into shape every day with a clean brush
  • A lash serum keeps them supple. That's fine from the second day

Combining in one appointment

If you have light lash tips, the lift with tint (€65.00) gives a clearly stronger effect. The lift opens up your eyes and the colour makes your lashes visible right to the tip. If you only want to refresh the colour between two lifts, you can book a lash tint separately for €15.00.

Many clients have their brows done at the same time. A brow lamination or henna brows fits fine in the same appointment, because we then work on two different areas. Say so when booking, then we reserve time for it.

For a wedding many people choose a lash lift, because then you have no mascara running when you get emotional. Plan the lift a week or two in advance. If it's your first time, do a trial run six weeks earlier. The knowledge base has the full countdown for your wedding.

Good to know about a lash lift

  • With rest in between, your lashes stay healthy

A lift temporarily changes the structure of the hair. With the right processing time and enough rest between two treatments, your lashes stay healthy. Lifting too often in a row or having a go yourself with a kit is a risk, though.

  • Korean and classic last just as long

Both grow out with the natural cycle of your lashes and stay for six to eight weeks. They only differ in the shape of the result.

  • A lift takes precision right next to your eye

You're working with lotions millimetres from your eye. Processing time and placement determine whether it turns out well or your lashes kink. That's exactly why it's better to have it done.

  • After 24 hours you can simply use mascara

Do choose a mascara you can remove without oil. Oil makes the lift drop sooner.

Frequently asked questions about Korean lash lift

What is a Korean lash lift?

With a Korean lash lift we lift your own lashes from the root. For that we use a flatter shield than with a classic lift, so your lashes come straight up out of the lash line. You get an open look and your lashes look longer, while they remain simply your own lashes. Curling them every morning is then no longer necessary.

What's the difference from a regular lash lift?

With the classic lift we lay your lashes over a curved shield, which gives a visible curl. With the Korean technique the bend sits at the root and the rest of the lash stands straight up. Stiff or downward-growing lashes often get more out of Korean. If you already have some curl and mainly want volume, classic is a fine choice.

How long does a Korean lash lift last?

Six to eight weeks, depending on how fast your lashes grow. They renew themselves constantly, so the lift gradually grows out. It never suddenly looks grown out.

Is a lash lift bad for your lashes?

Not if it's done carefully. We match the processing time to your lashes and finish with a nourishing step. What you do want to avoid is lifting too often in a row. We advise at least six weeks between two treatments, so your lashes have time to renew themselves.

Does a lash lift hurt?

No. You keep your eyes closed the whole time and mainly feel the light pressure of the shield on your eyelid. Most clients find it a relaxing hour. If something doesn't feel right, say so straight away. Then we adjust it.

Does it also work on short or stiff lashes?

Stiff lashes actually benefit the most from a lift from the root. On very short lashes the lift works too, you just see less of it. We look at that together with you at the start, so you don't pay for a result you can hardly see.

Can I wear mascara after a Korean lash lift?

Yes, from 24 hours after the treatment. Better to leave waterproof mascara alone, because you usually remove it with an oil-based product. Oil makes the lift drop sooner. Many clients notice, by the way, that they need less mascara, especially if their lashes have also been tinted.

Lash lift or lash extensions, which should I choose?

A lash lift works with your own lashes. It takes you an hour and after that there is no upkeep. Extensions give more volume and length, but need infills every few weeks and ask more care. If you're looking for something natural that needs little attention, a lift is a better fit. We don't do extensions.

What does a Korean lash lift cost in Enschede?

At Moons a Korean lash lift costs €60.00. With tint added it's €65.00. A classic lash lift costs €50.00. You'll find all prices on the prices page, and you book online.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Come with clean lashes, so without mascara, eye cream or oil. If you wear lenses, you take them out before the treatment. So bring a case. If you have lash extensions, have those fully removed first. You don't need to do anything else.
