What BIAB does for your own nail.
BIAB stands for builder in a bottle: a gel that is built up in a thin layer on your own nail and cured under the lamp. That layer makes your nail stronger, so it tears or splits less easily, and gives it a neat, natural shape. No extension is added. If you want length, it grows under the layer with your own nail.
That is how BIAB differs from ordinary gel polish, which only gives colour and shine, and from false nails, which put a new nail over your own. BIAB sits right in between: your own nail, only stronger. That is why people choose it when their nails break, when they want to build length without false nails, or when they want well-kept hands without weekly touch-ups.
At The Nailbar you choose from three finishes. Nude keeps your nail looking as natural as possible. With gel polish on top you choose a colour. And for the French, the specialist draws the white tip by hand on your nail.

Shape and length
The specialist discusses with you which shape, length and colour you want, and whether that suits your nails and what you do with your hands.
Preparing
Your cuticles are pushed back and your nails filed and degreased. This step decides how long everything stays on later, so the specialist takes time for it.
Building up
The strengthening layer goes on and cures under the lamp. Then comes colour, a French or a natural finish.
Finishing
The top coat is cured and you get cuticle oil and a short explanation of the upkeep. After that you can get straight on with your day.

Check with us first
- With a nail infection or a damaged cuticle the treatment cannot go ahead.
- If there is still work from another salon on your nails, mention it, because that takes extra time.
- Have your nails infilled every three to four weeks, and not later.

- Wear gloves when cleaning and washing up.
- Do not use your nails as tools, that breaks the layer.

What is the difference between BIAB and gel polish?

Is BIAB bad for your nails?
Not if the set is applied properly, infilled on time and removed carefully. Peeling it off yourself is bad for your nail. So always have it removed in the salon.
Can I book a pedicure at the same time?
Yes. Elisa's Pedicure is in the same building, with its own diary. Choose two slots that follow on from each other, and you do hands and feet in one visit.
