In brief
- A manicure cares for your nails and cuticles: trimming, filing and a neat finish. You choose basic, without colour, or clear gel for a natural shine, from €35.00.
- Gel polish is a manicure with colour: your nails shine in a colour you choose and stay looking good for three to four weeks, for €45.00.
- If your nails break easily, BIAB is the sturdier choice. Gel polish gives colour, BIAB gives strength.
- Both are done by the nail technician of The Nailbar, in the Moons Beauty building, with its own online booking calendar.

How your appointment at The Nailbar goes.
The nail technician takes time above all for the preparation. That step determines how long the gel polish stays on.
Shape and colour
The technician discusses with you which shape and length you want, and with gel polish which colour. What you do with your hands counts too.
Preparing
Your cuticles are pushed back and your nails trimmed, filed and degreased. This step determines how long the gel polish will stay on.
Colour or shine
With gel polish, the colour goes on in thin layers, each cured under the lamp. With a clear gel manicure you get a transparent, glossy layer; with basic your nail stays natural.
Finishing
The top coat is cured and you get cuticle oil and a short explanation of the aftercare. After that you can get straight on with your day.
When gel polish suits and when BIAB is better.
A good idea if
- You want well-kept hands without weekly touch-ups.
- You want colour that stays on for weeks without chipping.
- Your nails are healthy and strong enough for colour alone.
Check with us first
- If your nails tear or split, BIAB is the better choice: that layer strengthens your nail.
- With a nail infection or a damaged cuticle, the treatment cannot go ahead.
- If there is still work from another salon on, mention it, because that takes extra time.
How your gel polish stays looking good for weeks.
Morning
- Rub cuticle oil into your cuticles, that keeps the layer supple.
Evening
- Wear gloves when cleaning and washing up.
- Do not use your nails as tools, that breaks the layer.
Never pick gel polish off yourself: the top layer of your nail comes off with it. Have it removed in the salon.

What does gel polish cost in Enschede?
At The Nailbar, in the Moons Beauty building, gel polish including manicure costs €45.00. A manicure on its own costs from €35.00. You pay afterwards in the salon.
How long does gel polish last?
On average three to four weeks. After that you see the regrowth at your cuticle. Then have the set redone or removed.
What is the difference between gel polish and BIAB?
Gel polish gives colour and shine, BIAB gives strength. If your nails break or split, choose BIAB. If they are healthy and you only want colour, gel polish is enough.
Can I remove gel polish myself?
Preferably not. Peeling it off takes the top layer of your nail with it. In the salon it comes off carefully, for €20.00 if it is from The Nailbar.
Can I book a pedicure at the same time?
Yes. Elisa's Pedicure is in the same building, with its own diary. Choose two times that follow on from each other.
