In brief
- A brow lamination gives shape: your own hairs are brushed up. Henna gives colour, on the skin under your brows too.
- If your hairs point in all directions, you choose lamination. If you have sparse patches or few hairs, henna does more.
- Hybrid brows sit in between: colour on the hairs and a light shadow on the skin, which does not last as long as henna.
- Everything grows out or fades by itself. We do not do microblading, powder brows or other permanent make-up at Moons.

Shape or colour, that is where your choice begins.
The brow treatments look alike, but they do two different things. A lamination changes the direction of your hairs. Tint, hybrid and henna change the colour. Once you know that difference, choosing is a lot easier.
First look at what you are missing. If your hairs lie untidily, hang down or you see gaps while there are hairs there, you need shape. If your brows are light or thin, or have real sparse patches, you need colour. Sometimes it is both, and that is what the lamination with tint is for.
The five treatments side by side.

Which one suits your brows?
Your hairs point in all directions
Choose a brow lamination. It lays them in one direction, so the shape of your brows becomes visible.
You have sparse patches
Choose henna. The colour goes on the skin too, so patches without hairs stand out less.
You want colour, but soft
Choose hybrid brows. You get a light shadow on the skin that is gone after about a week, while the hairs keep their colour for longer.
Your brows are light
Shape and tint is often enough then. The hairs get darker and the shape is tidied up, in half an hour.
You want shape and colour
Choose the lamination with tint. The hairs lie upwards and get colour straight away.

And microblading or powder brows?
Microblading, powder brows, ombre brows and nano brows are forms of permanent make-up. With those, colour is placed in the skin, with a small blade or a device. That stays for months to years.
That is something quite different from lamination, henna or tint. Those stay on the hair or on top of the skin and disappear by themselves, within a few weeks to two months. So you are never tied to anything for long.
We do not do permanent make-up at Moons. If you are looking for fuller brows without anything going into your skin, henna, hybrid brows and lamination are the treatments to look at.
Can they go together?
Shape and colour together is possible with the lamination with tint. The hairs are lifted and tinted in one appointment.
We don't do lamination and henna in the same appointment. After a lamination your skin has just been treated and takes up the colour unevenly. A week later henna is fine.
If you are growing out your brows, colour helps you more than shape at the start. You can read how to get through that time in growing out your brows.

Frequently asked questions about lamination or henna
What is the difference between brow lamination and henna brows?
A brow lamination gives shape: your own hairs are brushed up and set. Henna gives colour, on the hairs and on the skin beneath. If many hairs point the wrong way, choose lamination. If you have few hairs or sparse patches, henna does more.
Which lasts longer, brow lamination or henna?
The shape of a lamination lasts six to eight weeks. You see henna on the skin for up to about two weeks and on the hairs for up to about seven weeks.
Can you combine brow lamination with henna?
Not in the same appointment. After a lamination your skin takes up the colour unevenly. A week later henna is fine. If you want shape and colour in one go, choose the lamination with tint.
Which is better for thin brows, lamination or henna?
Usually henna. A lamination only lays the hairs that are there, and with few hairs you see little difference. Henna colours the skin too, so your brows look fuller.
What is the difference between henna brows and hybrid brows?
Both colour the hairs and the skin beneath. Henna gives the strongest colour on the skin and lasts there for up to about two weeks. Hybrid gives a lighter shadow that is gone after about seven days. On the hairs both last up to about seven weeks.
What is the difference between brow lamination and powder brows?
A lamination lays your own hairs differently and grows out within two months. Powder brows are permanent make-up: colour that is placed in the skin and stays for months to years. We do not do that at Moons.
Do you do microblading, powder brows or nano brows?
No. We do not do permanent make-up. If you want fuller brows, we look at henna, hybrid brows or a lamination. Those disappear again by themselves.
What do the brow treatments at Moons cost?
Shape and tint costs €30.00, hybrid brows €35.00, henna brows €38.00, a brow lamination €50.00 and a lamination with tint €55.00. Shaping is always included.
