A vitamin C facial for a brighter complexion.
The Vitamin C treatment is an hour for a complexion that is dull or uneven. We cleanse and exfoliate your skin and then work in brightening serums and masks. A short connective tissue massage gets the circulation going. Afterwards your complexion looks more awake and more even.
Vitamin C is an antioxidant. It helps your skin cope with outside influences, such as UV and pollution, and it slows down the production of pigment. Your skin also needs vitamin C to make collagen. It is a fragile substance, though: light and air break it down.
After one treatment your skin looks fresher. If you come a few times, light marks soften and your complexion becomes more even. Deeper or more stubborn pigmentation calls for a treatment that reaches further, such as microneedling Brightning.
After the summer is a good moment to start. Your skin is often thicker and duller then, and only then do you really see which marks the sun has left behind. Because your skin does not need to recover, you can also plan it before a party or a wedding.
From cleansing to an awake complexion.
First we look at how your skin is doing. If you have just been in the sun or your skin reacts quickly, we keep it milder.
Cleansing
First make-up and sunscreen come off, then we cleanse your skin more deeply. Brightening active ingredients do the most on skin that is really clean.
Exfoliating and removing impurities where needed
An exfoliation removes the dead skin cells that make your complexion dull. If there are impurities or blackheads, we remove those too.
Brightening serums and masks
Then we work in the serums and masks, in gel and jelly form. In this step the vitamin C does its work, on skin that can absorb it well.
Massage and finish
A short connective tissue massage gets the circulation going, which brings colour back to your face. We finish with care and, if you are heading outside, protection against the sun.
Vitamin C next to a peel and microneedling.
They all work towards a fresher complexion, just not equally deep.
| Topic | Duration | Price | What it does | For whom |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vitamin C treatment | 60 minutes | €85.00 | Brightens and freshens up with serums and masks. You can get on with your day straight away. | A dull complexion and light marks |
| Glow peel 23% | 50 minutes | €79.00 | Fruit acids loosen dead skin cells. Sometimes you flake lightly for a few days. | Rough, uneven skin that is already used to something |
| Brightning (microneedling) | 50 minutes | €89.00 | Brings vitamin C and other brightening active ingredients right to the pigment. Red for one to two days. | More stubborn pigmentation and sun damage |
| Hydra treatment | 60 minutes | €79.00 | Replenishes moisture with hyaluronic acid and a cooling mask. | Skin that looks dull because it lacks moisture |
With pigmentation this is often the calmest start, especially on darker skin. We see how your skin reacts and only build up after that.
What you notice, straight away and in the weeks after.
A fresher complexion you see straight away. Marks need more time.
Straight after your appointment
More awake and more even
Your skin looks fresher, and thanks to the massage your face has more colour. You can simply get on with your day.
The weeks after
The effect carries on
A nourishing treatment like this keeps working for four to six weeks. Exactly how long also depends on your sun protection.
After 4 to 6 weeks
Marks become softer
For light marks we plan four to six treatments, every two to four weeks. After two or three times most people's complexion looks more even.
After the course
Compare with your starting photo
Take a photo in daylight at the first appointment, because a slow change is hard to see yourself. For maintenance you then come every six to eight weeks.
Who it is for and what we look out for.
A good idea if
- Your complexion looks grey or tired, even after a good night's sleep.
- You have light marks or an uneven complexion, for example after the summer.
- You have a party coming up and want fresh skin without downtime.
- Your skin is darker and you want to start gently with pigmentation.
Check with us first
- Dark or stubborn marks. Then Brightning or a peel come into the picture sooner.
- Acids or retinol in your routine. Stop those a few days beforehand.
- Sensitive skin. That usually goes fine, although we like to hear about it when you book.
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding. Nourishing treatments are usually fine, and we keep it milder then.
How to keep your complexion bright at home.
Two things do the most at home: vitamin C in the morning and sun protection on top. Retinol and other active ingredients you use at a different time of day.
Morning
- Cleanse gently, or just rinse with lukewarm water
- Apply a serum with vitamin C to your dry skin
- Put on your day cream
- Finish with sun protection, factor 30 to 50
Evening
- Double cleanse if you are wearing make-up or sun protection
- If you use retinol, do that in the evening
- Against marks, you could choose a product with niacinamide
- Finish with a night cream that suits your skin
Close your bottle of vitamin C tightly and keep it out of the sun, because light and air break it down. If the serum turns dark yellow or brown, it has had its best days.
Good to know about vitamin C.
Brightening is not the same as bleaching
Vitamin C slows down the production of new pigment and makes your complexion look more even. Your own skin colour stays as it is.
Vitamin C and sun protection work together
Your sun protection blocks UV, and vitamin C helps your skin with what gets through anyway. A serum alone is therefore not enough.
Lemon juice on your skin can cause marks
It sounds like a natural vitamin C course, yet lemon juice together with sun can irritate your skin and leave new marks behind. Save it for your tea.
One time freshens up, a course makes it more even
After one treatment your skin looks more awake. For marks that stay put, you need a course and a routine you keep up.
When a mark needs to see your GP first.
What a mark is, a doctor assesses. Have a mark looked at by your GP first if it changes in shape, colour or size, if the edge is irregular, or if it itches or bleeds. That also applies to a new dark mark you have no explanation for. We do not do laser or IPL. For that we refer you to a clinic or dermatologist.

How much does a vitamin C treatment cost in Enschede?
At Moons the Vitamin C treatment costs €85.00, and it takes sixty minutes. You pay afterwards in the salon, by card or in cash.
What does vitamin C do for your skin?
It is an antioxidant that slows down the production of pigment and helps your skin cope with UV. Your skin also needs it to make collagen. After a treatment your complexion mainly looks fresher and more even.
Does a vitamin C treatment help with pigmentation?
With light marks and an uneven complexion it does, in a course of four to six sessions. If the pigment sits deeper, microneedling Brightning brings the active ingredients right to the pigment. Which approach suits your type of pigmentation, we decide together.
How often should I have a vitamin C treatment?
To freshen up, you book it on its own, whenever suits you. If you want light marks to soften, we plan four to six treatments, every two to four weeks. After that, maintenance every six to eight weeks is enough.
Can I have a vitamin C treatment just before a party or wedding?
Yes, your skin does not need to recover from it. If it is your first time, plan it a week or two beforehand, so you know how your skin reacts.
What is the difference with microneedling Brightning?
The Vitamin C treatment works on the surface of your skin, and you can get on with your day straight away. With Brightning we use microneedling to bring vitamin C and other brightening active ingredients right to the pigment. That goes deeper, and your skin is red for one to two days afterwards.
