What are hybrid brows?
Hybrid brows is a brow treatment with hybrid tint. Hybrid means mixed. The tint does what ordinary brow tint does and also borrows something from henna: it colours your hairs and leaves a light colour on the skin beneath.
That colour on the skin works like a soft shadow under your brows. Patches with few hairs stand out less, and the shape shows more clearly.
The colour sits on your skin and in your hairs. Nothing goes under the skin, and it all disappears by itself. That is where hybrid differs from permanent make-up.
How long do hybrid brows last?
The colour sits in two places. On your skin it is gone sooner than on your hairs, because your skin keeps renewing itself.

Too dark, gone quickly or uneven?
The colour is too dark
In the first days the colour looks at its strongest. After that the shadow on your skin gets softer every day, and after about a week it is gone. Don't go over it with a scrub.
The colour leaves the skin quickly
On oily skin the shadow fades faster. Oil, scrubs and acids also remove it sooner. Your hairs do hold on to the colour.
The colour is uneven
Colour takes evenly on clean skin. A trace of cream or make-up can make it take unevenly. Tell the salon where you had it done.
You wanted it fuller
Hybrid gives a soft shadow. If you are looking for a filled-in, full look, henna colours the skin more clearly and for longer.

Hybrid brows or powder brows?
Powder brows, ombre brows, nano brows, combo brows and microblading are forms of permanent make-up. With those, colour is placed in the skin. It stays for months to years.
Hybrid tint sits on the skin and in the hairs, and is gone within a few weeks. So you are not tied to anything.
Be careful when you search. Hybrid brows sometimes also refers to a form of permanent make-up that combines hair strokes with shading. So always ask a salon whether it is tint.

You can also buy hybrid tint yourself. The tricky part is the shape. The tint colours your skin too, so you see every millimetre outside the line for a week.
If you do it yourself anyway, first do the allergy test that comes with the product, even if you have tinted before. If you get itching, swelling or blisters, remove the tint and call your GP.
