Forearms, upper arms or both.
We wax your arms in two parts. Forearms go from your wrist to your elbow, upper arms from your elbow to your shoulder. Each part takes about twenty minutes. If you want full arms, book them together, then we schedule enough time for both straight away.
Most clients start with their forearms. That's the part you see with a T-shirt or rolled-up sleeves, and where dark or thick hair is most noticeable. You add upper arms for sleeveless clothes or for the summer.
Waxing and hot wax hair removal are two names for the same thing. The wax pulls the hair out root and all, from the follicle it grows in. That's why you stay smooth for weeks, whereas after shaving you soon feel stubble again. Shaving your arms has another downside: the hairs feel coarse afterwards because they've been cut at an angle. After waxing they grow back with a soft tip.
What you book for which part of your arm.
| Topic | From where to where | Duration | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Forearms | From your wrist to your elbow | 20 minutes | €20.00 |
| Upper arms | From your elbow to your shoulder | 20 minutes | €20.00 |
| Full arms | Forearms and upper arms in one appointment | About 40 minutes | €20.00 plus €20.00 |
| Underarms | Added in the same appointment | 20 minutes | €18.50 |
You pay afterwards in the salon, by card or in cash. The other body areas, such as your legs and back, are listed under waxing.
From shaving to waxing step by step.
The first time takes a bit of patience, because your hair has to be long enough first. You only have to do that once.
10 to 14 days before
Stop shaving
The hair needs to be at least five millimetres long, otherwise the wax slides over it. Book your appointment first and count back from there.
The day before
A light scrub
A light scrub removes dead skin cells lying over the hairs, so the wax grips better. Come with clean skin, without thick body lotion or oil.
First 24 hours
Take it easy
Skip the sauna, sunbed, swimming pool and hard exercise, and choose loose sleeves. Some redness is normal and fades within a few hours.
Weeks 2 and 3
Hairs in phases
Your hair doesn't grow everywhere at once, so you see it come back in phases. Don't shave in between, otherwise you'll end up with hairs of different lengths.
Week 4
In the rhythm
After about four weeks the hair is long enough again. If you keep to that rhythm, it's always at the right length by itself and often grows back finer.
Twenty minutes per part of your arm.
Assessing
We look at the length of your hair and the condition of your skin. We don't wax irritated, sunburnt or recently treated skin.
Preparing
We cleanse your skin and apply a protective layer, so the wax only grips the hair.
Waxing
We apply the wax in the direction of hair growth and remove it against the growth, in small sections. Any remaining hairs we remove with tweezers.
Calming
Then we apply calming care against redness and bumps, and you get the aftercare for the first few days to take home.
Good for your arms and when we wait first.
A good idea if
- You have dark or thick hair on your arms and want to be rid of it for weeks.
- You shave your arms and get coarse stubble or red bumps in return.
- You're going on holiday or have an occasion with sleeveless clothes.
Check with us first
- Cuts, eczema or inflammation on your arms. We skip those areas.
- Sunburnt or just been on the sunbed. Then we wait a while, because your skin damages more easily.
- A cream with retinol or acids on your arms. Stop using it a few days in advance. If you take medication that makes your skin more sensitive, mention it at your appointment.
Good to know about arm waxing.
On your arms it's usually not so bad
The skin on your arms is less sensitive than your underarms or bikini line. You feel it most the first time, and after that you get used to it quickly.
Scrubbing and moisturising keeps hairs out
From day two, scrub lightly a few times a week and moisturise your arms. That keeps your skin supple and stops a new hair curling back into the skin.
A few hairs after a week is normal
Not every hair grows at the same time. If you see a few hairs after a week, they were usually still under your skin at your appointment. We'll get them next time.

Book an appointmentFrequently asked questions about arm waxing
How much does arm waxing cost in Enschede?
At Moons, forearms cost €20.00 and upper arms €20.00. Each part takes about twenty minutes, and for full arms you book both. You pay afterwards in the salon.
How long do my arms stay smooth after waxing?
Three to four weeks, depending on how fast your hair grows. If you wax regularly, the hair often grows back finer.
How long does the hair on my arms need to be?
At least five millimetres, usually ten to fourteen days after your last shave. If it's shorter, the wax doesn't grip it properly and hairs are left behind.
Does arm waxing hurt?
It's briefly tender, especially the first time, although on your arms it's usually not so bad. We work quickly and carefully, and afterwards we apply calming care.
Can I have my arms and underarms waxed in one appointment?
Yes. Add your underarms to your booking, and we'll reserve an extra twenty minutes for them.
Can I have my arms waxed as a man?
No, body waxing at Moons is for women only. Facial waxing is possible, because the facial areas are for everyone.
