Five zones and you choose where.
On your face we wax five zones: your upper lip, chin, jaw, neck and cheeks. If one spot in particular bothers you, such as a dark line on your upper lip or a few coarse hairs on your chin, you book just that zone.
On your cheeks and along your jaw it is often down: fine, light hairs you mostly see in bright daylight or under your foundation. Tweezers are no use there. With wax you remove that facial hair in one go, a whole area at a time. Waxing and hair removal with wax are two names for the same thing.
If you want more than one zone, you choose Full Face, with your brows included. Just your brows is possible too, with brow shaping. The zones on your body are under waxing.
One zone or Full Face and when you choose which.
It depends on how many spots you want, and whether your brows are included.
| Topic | What you get | Price | Duration | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One zone | Upper lip, chin, jaw, neck or cheeks, one spot per booking. | from €8.00 | Short treatment | You have one spot that bothers you |
| Full Face | All five zones, and we shape your brows. | €40.00 | 45 minutes | You want more than one zone or your brows included |
| Brow shaping | Just your brows, with wax and tweezers. | €19.50 | 30 minutes | You only want your brows in shape |
Full Face is a combination deal: your whole face and your brows together. If you want more than one zone, book Full Face, then the right amount of time is set aside.
Precise work in small sections.
On your face the skin is thinner and the areas are small. That is why we work more precisely and with a softer wax than on your body.
Looking
We look at the zone, the length of your hairs and your skin. If it is irritated, sunburnt or just treated, we do not wax that day.
Cleansing and protecting
We cleanse your skin and put a protective layer on it. Then the wax only grips the hairs.
With the growth
We apply the wax in the direction of growth and remove it against it. Along your lip and jawline we work in small sections.
Tweezers and calming
Stray hairs we remove with tweezers. Then calming care goes on, and you get the aftercare for the first few days to take home.
Sensitive skin or retinol in your routine.
Your face reacts faster than your legs. So tell us beforehand what you use at home.
A good idea if
- You have a few dark hairs on your upper lip or chin.
- You are fed up with tweezing and want a whole zone smooth in one go.
- You want more than one zone, with your brows included.
Check with us first
- Retinol or acids. Where you use those, we do not wax. Stop a few days beforehand and mention it at your appointment. What those ingredients do is explained under active ingredients explained.
- Skin medication from your GP or dermatologist. Then we do not wax your face.
- A recent peel or microneedling. We wait until your skin has completely settled.
- Skin that reddens or stings easily. Plan your appointment outside your period, and read more about sensitive skin.
- Just sunburnt or tanned from the sunbed. Then we wait a while.
After waxing your face.
After waxing your skin is briefly open and warm, so you take it easy the first day.
Straight after
A little red for a while
The area may be a little red and feel warm. That fades within a few hours.
First 24 hours
No make-up for now
Leave make-up off the waxed zone. Also skip sauna, sunbed, swimming pool and hard exercise, because heat and sweat bring on bumps more easily.
Week 2 and 3
The first hairs
On your face the hair sometimes comes back a little sooner than on your body. Do not shave in between, so the wax has enough length to grip later.
Week 3 to 4
Time for the next one
Then your hair is the right length again. If you keep up that rhythm, it often grows back finer.
Good to know about facial waxing.
After waxing your facial hair grows back finer
The idea of thicker hair comes from shaving: a cut-off hair feels coarse. After waxing the hair grows back with a fine tip, and with regular waxing often thinner.
Even sensitive skin can often be waxed
On your face we work with a softer wax and calm the skin afterwards. If your skin is red or irritated on the day itself, we would rather wait a while.
More hair on your face than you are used to.
If you get noticeably more or darker hair on your chin, jaw or cheeks in a short time, have your GP look at it first. Sometimes there is a hormonal cause behind it, and waxing does not take that away. With eczema, inflammation or small wounds on your face, your GP or dermatologist also comes first.

Book an appointmentFrequently asked questions about facial waxing
What does facial waxing cost in Enschede?
One zone at Moons costs from €8.00. Full Face, with all zones and your brows, costs €40.00 and takes 45 minutes. You pay afterwards in the salon, by card or in cash.
Does waxing my upper lip hurt?
It is briefly sensitive, especially the first time. It is a matter of seconds, and your eyes may water for a moment, that is a reflex. The times after that it is clearly easier.
How long does my face stay smooth after waxing?
Three to four weeks, and on your face sometimes a little less. If you wax regularly, the hair often grows back thinner.
How long does the hair need to be to wax my face?
At least five millimetres, so the wax can grip it properly. After shaving that is usually after ten to fourteen days.
Can I have my face waxed if I use retinol?
Not on the spot where you use it. Retinol and acids make your skin thinner, and then the wax can take more than just the hair. Stop a few days before your appointment and just mention it when you come in.
Can men have their face waxed too?
Yes, the facial zones are for everyone. Body waxing we only do for women.
When should I have my face waxed before a wedding?
Not on the day itself, because on the first day you leave make-up off the waxed zone. With Full Face we also shape your brows, and for that a week or two beforehand is safer. See also your skin before your wedding.
