Underarm waxing in Enschede

Smooth for longer than shaving, and done in twenty minutes.
Treatment room with a plant, candles and a basin with a gold tap

In brief

  • Underarm waxing takes twenty minutes and costs €18.50.
  • You stay smooth for three to four weeks, a good deal longer than after shaving, because the hair comes out root and all.
  • Skip exercise, the sauna, the sunbed and the swimming pool for the first 24 hours. Sweat and heat bring on bumps more quickly on freshly waxed skin.
  • With your forearms and upper arms added, your whole arm is smooth in one appointment.

Smooth for longer than after shaving.

If you shave your underarms, the blade cuts the hair off at the surface. That's why you soon feel stubble again. With waxing we pull the hair out root and all, from the follicle in your skin. Then it takes three to four weeks before it's back.

Underarm waxing or an armpit wax, it's the same thing. Underarm hair often grows in different directions. That's why we work in small sections and follow the direction of growth for each one, so we also catch the hairs that lie a little differently.

An underarm appointment is short, so it's easy to add your legs or bikini line while you're here anyway.

Shaving or waxing under your arms.

The difference is in where the hair is removed: at the surface or at the root.

We don't do laser or IPL. You keep up waxing with an appointment about every four weeks.

Twenty minutes from start to finish.

Beforehand we tell you what's going to happen, and along the way we say what you can expect.

  1. Looking

We look at how long your hairs are and how your skin is doing. If we see small wounds or inflamed spots, we don't wax there.

  2. Cleansing

We clean your underarms and apply a protective layer, so the wax only grips the hair.

  3. Waxing section by section

We wax one small section at a time with the growth and remove the wax against the growth. It's a matter of seconds per section.

  4. Tweezers and calming

With tweezers we remove the last hairs. Then calming care goes on against redness and bumps.

Deodorant, sport and heat around your appointment.

Under your arms it's warm and you sweat there quickly. That's why the first day counts a little more here than elsewhere.

  • Deodorant

Deodorant with alcohol or perfume can sting on skin that's just been waxed. When you can use it again, we discuss at your appointment. If you use a deodorant with acids, such as glycolic acid, stop using it a few days beforehand.

  • Exercise

Skip the gym and other hard exercise for the first 24 hours. Sweat brings on bumps more quickly on freshly waxed skin. If you train often, plan your appointment on a rest day.

  • Heat

Also give the sauna, the sunbed and the swimming pool a miss that first day. If it's warm outside, choose a top with loose sleeves, so nothing rubs.

  • Scrubbing and moisturising

From a few days after your appointment, scrub lightly twice a week and keep your skin supple with a body lotion. That way new hairs grow through easily.

Underarms and arms in one appointment.

You book your arm in two parts, each of about twenty minutes. Put them in the same appointment as your underarms, and the right amount of time is set aside.

Good to know about underarm waxing.

  • You only let the hair grow long once

Only for your first appointment do you wait ten to fourteen days after shaving. After that, an appointment about every four weeks makes sure the hair is always long enough by itself.

  • Underarms are sensitive, but it's over quickly

The skin under your arms is thin, and you feel it most the first time. It's a matter of seconds per section, and the times after that it's clearly easier.

  • Red dots afterwards are part of it

Where the hairs were, your skin can be red for a while or show small bumps. The redness fades within a few hours.

Frequently asked questions about underarm waxing

How much does underarm waxing cost in Enschede?

At Moons, underarm waxing costs €18.50, and it takes twenty minutes. You pay afterwards in the salon, by card or in cash.

How long do my underarms stay smooth after waxing?

Three to four weeks, depending on your hair growth. That's a good deal longer than after shaving, and with regular waxing the hair often grows back thinner.

Can I use deodorant after waxing?

Deodorant with alcohol or perfume can sting on skin that's just been waxed. How long you'd better leave it off, we discuss at your appointment.

Can I exercise after having my underarms waxed?

Wait 24 hours. Sweat and heat bring on bumps and irritation more quickly on freshly waxed skin, so plan your appointment on a day you're not training.

Does underarm waxing hurt?

It's one of the more sensitive areas, especially the first time. It's a matter of seconds per section, and because the hair grows back thinner afterwards, the following times are clearly easier.

Can I have my underarms and arms waxed in one appointment?

Yes. Forearms cost €20.00 and upper arms €20.00, twenty minutes each. Book them together with your underarms, and the right amount of time is set aside.

Can I have my underarms waxed as a man?

No, body waxing we only do for women, and that includes your underarms. Men are welcome for the facial areas.
