What happens under the light.
With LED therapy, soft light shines on your skin. There is no UV in it, so you don't tan from it and you can't burn. You lie for twenty minutes with your eyes covered under a panel and feel at most a gentle warmth.
We use it at the end of a treatment, when your skin has just had a stimulus from a peel or from microneedling. Your skin is recovering at that moment, and that's when we see people get the most out of it. The redness usually subsides faster and your skin feels calmer the next day.
Online a lot is promised about light therapy, from fewer wrinkles to curing acne. We don't make those promises. We use LED as a calming finish that gives recovery a helping hand, and we leave it at that.
When it's worth it.
It costs twenty minutes extra and €20.00. In these cases we think that's well spent.
You need to be presentable tomorrow
If you want to look good the day after your treatment, this is the least effort to make the redness subside faster.
Your skin reacts quickly
If you go red quickly or your skin feels tight after every treatment, a calm finish is nicer than walking out the door straight away with warm skin.
You're doing a course
With a series of peels or microneedling, the recovery between treatments counts too. Then it makes sense to add LED as standard.
You just want to lie down a little longer
Twenty minutes lying still under a warm light is for many people the nicest part of the appointment. That can be a reason too.

Who it's for and when not.
A good idea if
- You've booked a peel or microneedling and want to leave as calm as possible.
- Your skin goes red quickly or soon feels tight.
- You're in a course and want to keep the recovery in between as smooth as possible.
Check with us first
- If you take medication that makes you light-sensitive, let us know, because then we skip the LED.
- With epilepsy or light sensitivity we don't do it.
- Do you have a skin condition you're being treated for? Check with your doctor first.
- LED is a complement to your treatment. Booking LED on its own isn't possible with us.
The light comes from Skin Complete.
Our LED system is the Precision Photonic System by Skin Complete, a Dutch brand. For home use the brand also has LED masks.

What does LED therapy cost in Enschede?
At Moons Beauty, LED therapy costs €20.00 as an add-on to your treatment, and it takes twenty minutes extra. Microneedling with LED added costs €119.00 in total.
Can I book LED therapy on its own?
No. We only use it to finish a treatment. If you're looking for light therapy only, we can't help you, and we'd rather tell you that now than when you're standing at the door.
Will I feel anything?
At most a gentle warmth. We cover your eyes and you lie still for twenty minutes. After the appointment you can carry on with your day straight away.
Will LED tan my skin?
No. There is no UV in it, so your skin doesn't tan from it and you can't burn from it. It's something completely different from a sunbed.
Does LED help with wrinkles or acne?
We don't make claims about that. We use LED to settle your skin after a peel or microneedling, and we don't promise more than that. For lines or blemishes there are treatments that are actually meant for that.
